CASE Study Challenge #166 - Christmas Tag

I have been trying (unsuccessfully for the most part) to complete more card challenges.  Life is crazy, blah blah blah…

Tonight, I saw a post on Facebook that Case Study Challenge Blog didn't have many entries for this challenge and had no takers for their Guest Designer spot.

Well, my paint isn't dry on the project I need to finish, so why not work on a fun one while I wait :)

Here's the inspiration-

And here's what I came up with -

Thanks for stopping by!

Cardstock - Kraft - Michaels
Patterned Paper - Lost & Found Christmas - My Mind's Eye
Dies - Tag Sale #3 & Christmas Poinsettia - Papertrey Ink

Holiday Card Workshop Homework - Day 1

My addiction to Online Card Classes continues.  I'm currently taking the 2013 Holiday Card Workshop.

Day 1 focused on different ideas for the insides of cards.  This one used a different fold with a hidden greeting inside.

I love it (that Savvy Stamps Partridge always makes me happy), but it seems like it needs a little something else.

I'll have to put it aside for a bit and look at it again to figure it out.

Sweet Elephant Baby Card

I made this card for a recent submission.  It wasn't chosen for publication, but it is one of my new favorites anyway.

The background is birch paper stamped with the dauber of Distress Paint in Picked Raspberry.

Serious cuteness :)

Runway Inspired Challenge #45 - Tanya Taylor Spring 2014

I love card challenges, but can never seem to find the time to enter them.  Hopefully this will signal the turning of a new leaf!

The inspiration for this Runway Inspired Challenge:

Love it - cool colors and my favorite pattern - stripes!

My project is perhaps a bit literal, but I couldn't help myself - I loved the all those stripes!

Watercolor Flower card

I made this one a while ago, but it caught my eye today.  It is definitely a favorite - clean and simple, and a pop of color.

The Forever and Always stamp set is from Simon Says Stamp.  LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!  The flower was watercolored with Distress reinkers in Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint.  Once it was dry, the sentiment was embossed in white and dots were applied using white Enamel Accents.

Other Supplies:
Cardstock - Soft Stone - Papertrey Ink
Ink - Colorbox Dye Ink (I can't recall the color, but it is a dark gray)
Other - Corner Rounder

Another hello card

I think my favorite kind of card to make is a Hello card.  I have so many hello dies and stamps - love to experiment with them.

The background was dry embossed with a Cuttlebug folder inked with Hero Arts Shadow ink in Soft Pool.  The PTI stitched Hello was die cut from patterned paper and backed with white paper.

Other supplies:
Cardstock - Ocean Tides, Soft Stone - Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper - Hero Arts/Basic Grey - Hello Luscious
Twine - PTI

Late Summer Card Camp Homework :)

I took the awesome Online Card Classes Summer Card Camp class earlier this summer.  Unfortunately, life got crazy and I didn't get to participate much.  I did manage to make this card based on one of the sketches and color combos.

(The light was a little bright for the first pic - wish I would have see this before dark!)

The hearts were cut out from the card front using the Lawn Fawn heart dies.  The positive die cuts were covered with Distress Paints and Glossy Accents.

Other supplies:
Cardstock - Kraft - PTI
Background stamp - Hero Arts Envelope Liner
Stamp - PTI
White Pen - Distress Picket Fence Marker

Triangles - Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge/ Moxie Fab Trendy Triangles

Its been a while since I've posted!  Life has been taking over.

I love the Mama Elephant Trifecta stamp set.  I can't stop using it!  Here's what I came up with for the challenge.  (I missed the Moxie Fab Trendy Triangle Challenge when I posted this - I'm adding it there too :))

Its really different for me and I think I love it!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger - Pastel Pretties

Super cute pastel jordan almonds were featured in this week's Tuesday Trigger.

I immediately thought of a lesson in the Online Card Classes Pattern Play class earlier in March.  Jennifer McGuire used Distress Stain in Picket Fence to alter a bright patterned paper.

I bought an 8 x8 Heidi Grace Cartwheel paper pad at Joann (because it was cute).  I loved the patterns, but they were too bright for the pastel look.  A wash with the Picket Fence stain took care of that!

I cut the bird with the Silhouette Cameo (free easter shapes from last week).  I'm still working on getting the right blade settings for some of the different media types, so the cuts aren't perfect.

Stamps - Hero Arts - Hello Luscious, Sentiment - Hero Arts/Studio Calico
Ink - Hero Arts Shadow Ink Bubble Gum, Fresh Ink Melon
Cardstock - White & Aqua Mist - Papertrey Ink

My first publication!

Its here!  My first publication is in Paper Crafts Magazine's special issue Handmade Home Decor.  I'm so excited.  I even got a little mention on the blog!
