Online Card Classes - Holiday Card Workshop - Day 6- Masking and Ghost Stamping

The Online Card Classes Holiday Card Workshop is wrapping up and I've only had a couple of chances to make cards this time around.  (Hopefully I get around to using the massive amount of information soon!)
I made the following cards using the Ghost Stamping method from Day 6. I used the Vintage Snowflakes and New Year's stamp sets from The Craft's Meow.  (Thanks to Lisa for replacing my set of wonky snowflakes super fast!)  The images were stamped on white cardstock with Frost White Colorbox pigment ink.  Once the images were dry, I used Distress Inks in Faded Jeans, Tumbled Glass, Broken China &  Spun Sugar.

(The color is off in the full pics of the cards - I couldn't get outside in time to take them today!)

Out of this World Card - Make It Monday #89 - Creating Windows for Floating Images

This week's Make it Monday was a fun idea - floating an image over a window.

I thought the rocket seemed like a perfect fit for this technique.

Here it is opened.

Fun Pinterest Inspiration - Chevron Wreaths

I found this super cute wreath on Pinterest a few weeks ago and loved the idea.

Once I found a pool noodle (not so easy in October!), it was a pretty quick project.  I made a cardboard template for cutting the chevron pieces.

I didn't care for the burlap flowers, so I made felt fringe flowers by folding a strip of felt in half lengthwise, making small cuts every 1/4 inch.  Then you roll it up, glue it and stick it on the wreath.

Kickstart Organize Your Supplies - Days 3&4

Today's Kickstart lesson was ideas for organizing supplies.  And, boy, do I need help with that!!

Apparently I had an organizational moment a couple of months ago because I found a "scrap bundle" in my box o' scraps!  All clipped together and everything.  I love the idea of bundling together scraps that look good together so you can use them later.

I've been inspired by Jennifer McGuire's paper strip cards from the class.  I thought it would be fun to try to use them on a birthday card for my niece.

Supplies:
Cardstock - White - PTI
Paper - Bright Side paper pack - My Mind's Eye
Stamps - Birds - PTI, Sentiment - Simon Says Stamp
Other - Glossy Accents, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher

Kickstart Playtime (Days 9/10)

The Kickstart lessons yesterday and today were great!  Playtime was just what I needed to try out some of the cool new things I've been buying lately.

I seem to have accumulated a large collections of Distress Inks, reindeers and markers over the last couple of months (since I took the Online Card Classes Stretch Your Stamps class!)  I also dug up some Inchies purchased a while ago.

Using repositionable adhesive, I lined up 9 Inchies on a sheet of paper.   I just got these stamps from the Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit.  LOVE it!!

I thought it needed something.  Perhaps I need to adjust my perfect pearls recipe :)  It is still a work in progress.

Supplies:
Inchies
Stamps - Simon Says Stamps
Ink - Versafine Black
Distress Inks - Fired Brick, Worn Lipstick, Broken China, Crushed Olive, Faded Jeans, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade, Tumbled Glass, Spun Sugar
Other - Perfect Pearls

Kickstart Give Yourself a Challenge (Day 7/8)

I'm loving the Online Card Classes Kickstart class right now.  The lessons for days 7 & 8 was to give yourself a challenge.  Since I usually spend way too much time on my cards, I did a 10 minute timed challenge.

Here is the birthday card I made for my nephew.

I was inspired by Lisa Spangler's vertical sentiments on Day 8.  I didn't like any of the larger birthday stamps to use vertically, but the beep beep! seemed perfect!  I don't think I like the colored penciled vehicles.  I think next time I would use markers (or spend a few more minutes coloring!)

Supplies:
Card Base - kraft - PaperSource
Cardstock - fine linen Papertrey Ink
Stamps & Dies - Papertrey Ink
Ink - Cup o Joe - Hero Arts Shadow ink
Colored Pencils - Prismacolor
